If you run your own business and are looking to upgrade your van then you can either splash out and buy a new one or you could consider a second hand vehicle. In the current economic climate that can partly be attributed to the impact caused by COVID-19, you may be rather short on funds so a used van may be a more appropriate option.
The most popular new van currently being sold here in the UK is the Ford Transit Custom. If you were to take a look at the figures on the website of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), you would see that on a year to date basis to July 2020 there have been 19,774 new Ford Transit Custom vans sold. This is well ahead of the second most popular new van sold which is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 10.713 being sold.
However, if you wanted to buy a brand new Ford Transit Custom van, you could have to find in the region of £23.910 plus VAT. That is a sizeable sum of money.
If you are prepared to drive around in a second hand Ford Transit Custom then you may be able to pick one up that is around 4 to 5 years of age for less than £10,000 plus VAT which is a significant difference. Obviously, you are not going to have the greater reliability that normally comes with buying a new van but you could make a huge saving when compared with buying a new van.
You will obviously need to make sure that your used Ford Transit Custom van is suitably insured. In that respect, you will be pleased to hear that we can quickly provide you with a competitively priced van insurance quotation without any obligation to proceed so why not give us a call to discuss your requirements. We look forward to hearing from you.
