According to the Confused.com car insurance price index that is produced on a quarterly basis, the cost of insuring a car has gone down by an average of £71 per annum when comparing the figures for the second quarter of 2021 with the same period last year. It would be good news if a similar pattern has been seen for van insurance.
In Q2 of 2021 the average cost of fully comprehensive car insurance was £522 per annum. That was a fall of an average of £16 per annum when compared with the previous quarter’s figure of an average of £538 per annum.
There are various factors that affect the cost of motor insurance such as your age and where you live.
According to the above index, an 18 year old is paying an average of £1,409 per annum to insure their car whereas a 23 year old is being charged an average of £970 per annum. A 37 year old pays an average of £585 per annum and a 69 year old an average of £306 per annum.
The most expensive region to insure a car is in Inner London with the average cost of fully comprehensive car insurance being £808 per annum. Manchester and Merseyside is in second place with the average cost being £675 per annum. The cheapest place for car insurance is in Llandrindod Wells with the average premium being £319 per annum.
So, if you have recently received your van insurance renewal notice from your existing insurer, why not take the opportunity to see if you can get the cover cheaper elsewhere before committing to another 12 months with your current van insurer. There are an awful lot of providers of van insurance in the UK. In this respect, why not get in contact with us to obtain a competitive quote without any obligation to proceed. We look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
